Why Choose PVC Pipes with Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) Certification from Thai Vinnitech (2002)?

Choosing pipes that are certified with the Thai Industrial Standard (TIS) is crucial for ensuring the quality and safety of materials used in various projects, whether residential, commercial, or in plumbing systems. TIS certification guarantees that the pipes meet specific standards, assuring durability and performance. Pipes certified with TIS must undergo rigorous testing for strength, durability, flexibility, and pressure resistance, ensuring that they are of high quality and capable of long-term use. Additionally, these pipes help reduce risks such as leakage, cracking, or deformation, enhancing the safety of plumbing systems and building occupants. Using TIS-certified pipes also ensures compliance with construction regulations, especially for drinking water and plumbing systems. Many models, including pipes from Thai Vinnitech (2002), are eco-friendly, receiving the Green Label certification, which confirms that they are safe for health and the environment. Thai Vinnitech (2002) pipes are regularly inspected by both government and private sectors to maintain high standards. They offer solutions that are lead-free and clean, especially for drinking water systems. Choosing pipes from Thai Vinnitech (2002) ensures safety, efficient performance, and support for a sustainable future.

The Importance of TIS 17-2561 Standard for Blue PVC Pipes in Thailand

The TIS 17-2561 standard is an industrial product standard that defines the characteristics of blue PVC pipes used in plumbing systems, particularly for drinking water. This standard is vital for guaranteeing the quality and safety of these pipes for long-term use in various projects, both in industrial and residential sectors.

1. Quality Assurance

The TIS 17-2561 standard sets forth tests and requirements that blue PVC pipes must meet, ensuring their ability to withstand high pressure and long-term use, including tests in various areas such as:

Strength: PVC pipes that meet this standard must have high strength to withstand the pressure from plumbing systems with high water pressure.

Durability: These pipes must have a long service life and be resistant to environmental factors like corrosion from chemicals or extreme weather conditions.

Flexibility: Pipes with this characteristic help prevent breakage from bending or fluctuating pressure, ensuring greater reliability.

2. Safety

Choosing pipes that meet the TIS 17-2561 standard helps reduce the risks of issues that may impact the health and safety of users over time, particularly with drinking water systems:

Toxic-Free Pipes: Certified PVC pipes do not release harmful chemicals or toxins, such as lead, that could contaminate drinking water.

Leak Prevention: Pipes meeting this standard are highly resistant to leaks, reducing water loss and minimizing the risk of accidents caused by plumbing failures.

3. Legal Compliance

Using TIS 17-2561 certified PVC pipes ensures compliance with legal regulations and construction codes related to plumbing and installation of water systems in Thailand. Pipes that pass certification are recognized by relevant authorities such as Electricity Authority and Waterworks Authority, which require the use of certified, quality materials in plumbing systems.

4. Durability and Reliability

PVC pipes certified under TIS 17-2561 are tested for durability to ensure they can perform well under changing environmental conditions:

UV Resistance: These pipes can withstand ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight, preventing degradation or cracking from exposure.

Corrosion Resistance: Certified PVC pipes resist corrosion from chemicals or external factors, such as salty water or chemicals in the plumbing system.

5. Environmental Protection

PVC pipes that meet the TIS 17-2561 standard are often certified with the Green Label, a symbol that confirms they are environmentally friendly:

Recyclable Materials: These pipes are made from recyclable materials, helping reduce waste and environmental pollution.

Non-Toxic: Certified pipes do not release harmful chemicals that can pollute the environment.

6. Certification for Potable Water

Blue PVC pipes that meet the TIS 17-2561 standard are often certified for use in potable water systems, ensuring that they are safe for drinking water. These pipes are produced under strict control to prevent the release of harmful substances like lead or other toxins that could contaminate the water supply.

Choosing PVC pipes with TIS 17-2561 certification from Thai Vinnitech (2002) offers a guarantee of high quality, safety, and environmental responsibility, making them the ideal choice for reliable and sustainable plumbing systems.

For more than 70 years HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) has been discovered accidentally during an experiment in the 1950s. Since then, HDPE has completely revolutionized human life. With outstanding properties of HDPE such as strong and durable, Resistant to heat and chemical, HDPE is used as a raw materials in the production of consumer products such as water bottles, shampoo bottles, toys, water pipes and many more.

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is produced from a Catalytic polymerization via catalyst. The process creates a chain of polymers under constant pressure and temperature.

The evolution of HDPE pipes started in 1959 with the first HDPE pipes manufactured according to class PE 50, with an internal pressure rating of 5 MPa (50 bar) used as sewer pipes, agricultural pipes and mine pipes. Later, the HDPE pipe industry improved HDPE polymers for pipes having higher quality and withstand higher pressure. The second generation HDPE pipes were produced with class PE 63 with an internal pressure rating of 6.3 MPa (63 bar), and PE 80 with an internal pressure rating of 8 MPa (80 bar) respectively. They are mainly used for water supply, drainage, agricultural pipes, chemical pipes, industrial pipes, etc.

In 1995, the production process of raw materials used in the production of HDPE water pipes was further developed. By using the Bimodal production technology, it allows the pipe to withstand more pressure while reducing the wall thickness. The new material is class PE100 with an internal pressure rating of 10 MPa (100 bar) and is the class used until today.

HDPE pipes are replacing ductile iron and concrete pipes due to their superior properties such as strong and durable, Resistant to pressure, heat and chemicals. HDPE pipes manufactured in Thailand must be manufactured according to the Thai Industrial Standards TIS 982-2556

The use of uPVC pipes has grown exponentially since then. Factors that uPVC pipes are better choice than the steel or Ductile Iron pipes are as follows:

uPVC pipes are produced from high quality Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride resin and has better properties compared to steel or ductile iron pipes such as;

1) Does not corrode

Compared with steel or ductile iron pipes, uPVC is a high quality plastic pipe and does not corrode over time.

2) Lightweight

uPVC pipes produced from high quality Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride resin are five times lighter than the steel or ductile iron pipes of the same length and diameter.

3) Easy to Install

uPVC pipes can be installed easily using fittings and Thai Vinytech (2002) Glue-Tech pipe glue while the steel or ductile iron pipe requires hot welding.

4) Inexpensive

uPVC pipes are generally cheaper than the steel or ductile iron pipe both in terms of the material cost and the installation cost. Choosing uPVC pipes over steel or ductile iron pipe can help to reduce the construction cost.

For these reasons, it is clear that selecting uPVC pipes is the right choice compared to steel or ductile iron pipes. Also, One should make sure that the uPVC pipes used are certified according to TIS. 17-2561 and are assured that they are manufactured from quality manufacturers like Thai Vinytech (2002).

1) COVID-19 Partition made from uPVC pipes

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, our lives have completely changed, and going outside is not the same anymore, especially with the social distancing measures that are laid down to prevent the spread of the virus COVID-19. uPVC pipes are used with clear plastic sheets to create a partition in places like banks, schools, restaurants, etc. We can say that uPVC pipes are a very good choice because they are strong, easy to join, and inexpensive.

You can purchase our Thai Vinytech (2002) uPVC pipes at the link below.

2) Aquaponic and hydroponic systems from uPVC

Nowadays, it is very difficult to find organic and fresh vegetables that are free from pesticides and other harmful substances. Many health-conscious consumers grow their own vegetables at home to ensure that they are pesticide-free. uPVC pipes and fittings are one of the best options to be used for creating aquaponic and hydroponic systems due to their outstanding properties. Choosing high-quality uPVC pipes with the “Green Label” mark to be used for aquaponic and hydroponic systems is a great choice as they are free from toxic chemicals and water contamination.

TIS. or “Thai Industrial Standards” are standard procedures required for a product or service designed for the benefit of consumers organized by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute or TISI.

The Thai Industrial Standards Institute or TISI. requires all food, electrical goods, vehicles, construction materials and others to comply with the Thai Industrial Standards.

Thai Industrial Standards for rigid uPVC for drinking water classified in the mandatory standards. The standard was firstly introduced in 1972 as TIS. 17-2514. Later, two more revisions of TIS. 17-2523 and TIS. 17-2532 were implemented in the year 1980 and 1989 respectively. TIS. 17-2532 has been implemented for over 30 years until the latest revision of TIS. 17-2561 was introduced in 2019 and has been implemented since then until present.

Let us understand what the Thai Industrial Standard TIS 17-2561 is about and how is it different from TIS 17-2532

1) Rigid uPVC pipe for drinking water produced according to TIS. 17-2561 is classified with 5 pressure ratings of Class 5, Class 7, Class 8.5, Class 10.5 and Class 13.5 unlike TIS. 17-2532 which is classified with 3 pressure ratings of class 5, Class 8.5 and Class 13.5.

Ultraviolet Radiation or UV rays affect the PVC pipe when exposed to sunlight for a long period of time. The UV rays may cause fading in color and also the performance of the pvc pipe to drop.

Polyvinylchloride or PVC has the chemical formula (C2H3Cl)n. According to the quality testing standards, it has been proven that PVC pipe has a lifespan of more than 50 years even though it is exposed to UV rays for a long period of time. As the external layer is affected, the internal layer of the PVC pipe still helps to maintain its original properties and helps withstand the effect of Ultraviolet radiation.
